I haven't reset my XP Counter since right before or right after I trimmed my Unt HP Cape, so it took me over 7 months to get the 214748364 XP for "Lots!" (including 2 one-month breaks). I might eventually reset the counter, but for now, I think I'll enjoy looking at it. As for the Green Partyhat, I've wanted one for a long time, but Free Trade made it much easier to obtain. I've Ranged camped Frost Dragons for much of the 1048m it cost me, but had help with a 310m LOAN from a friend. 1. Why Finance?
Financial Theory (ECON 251) This lecture gives a brief history of the young field of financial theory, which began in business schools quite separate from economics, and of my growing interest in the field and in Wall Street. A cornerstone of standard financial theory is the efficient markets hypothesis, but that has been discredited by the financial crisis of 2007-09. This lecture describes the kinds of questions standard financial theory nevertheless answers well. It also introduces the leverage cycle as a critique of standard financial theory and as an explanation of the crisis. The lecture ends with a class experiment illustrating a situation in which the efficient markets hypothesis works surprisingly well. Complete course materials are available at the Open Yale Courses website: open.yale.edu This course was recorded in Fall 2009.

David Malone golemxiv-credo.blogspot.com author of The Debt Generation, http gives the opening of his talk in Lancaster on November 24th, 2010 . It includes a short introduction by Gina Dowding, Green Party parliamentary candidate for Lancaster and Fleetwood. David asks why there was never any real debate about bailing out the banks during the financial crisis and questions what the lack of such a debate says about the state of our democracy. The meeting was organised by North Lancashire Green Party.
